Hot Mess A.C. Submission by artsyfartsy1998 Hot Mess A.C. Submission by artsyfartsy1998
This is my submission to the Hot Mess Art Contest! It's a Category 1 piece and it was made with printer paper, a no. 2 pencil and 24 Faber Castell GRIP watercolor eco-pencils (my favorite thing to color with!) Here's my paragraph;

I'm in the middle, wearing my favorite knee-socks and blue gym shorts. I designed the tank top myself, and I seriously want one if they're ever made. My creation/creatures names Webster, Brixie, and Coddle~Wings. Webster is the winged fox. He represents the graceful artist i can be. He's very creative and calm, and his tail is coated in paint that can change to be any color he wishes. Coddle~Wings is the purple and olive owl. She represents my intelligence, my adoration for books and knowledge, and the bit of me that is shy. She's quiet and wise and will give out information little at a time, but has a secret fire within her. She is very sweet. Brixie is the last one, a creation of my own. She represents my spunk, bright ideals and kindliness. She can fly, like the other two, and excels at making new friends and social things. She's very energetic and muscular, though she looks fat.

I really hope I'll win, even though I'm almost absolutely sure I wont. I saw so many great entries, and though I'm proud of mine (I spent two hours on it) I doubt I'll win. Still, it's good to enter these things, you know? I wouldn't want to turn into a Slumper!

Um, I'm really flattered, but... I don't know you, or anything about you, or (and this is important) your location. And I should hope you don't know my location either... We can be friends! Right? Okay!

Nice drawing.

It looks like you have captured it with a camera rather than a scanner. If you do this it is often a good idea to use software to increase the contrast and the brightness a bit. There are lots of software apps that can do this, many of them are free (for example Google's Picassa or IrfanView). Doing this makes the the whites whiter and the picture more punchy when viewed on a computer.

Yeah, I used a camera. I want a scanner so badly! Thanks for the advice and compliment!
